One recipe for potato dumplings
200g ground beef
1 egg
1 tablespoon cornstarch
salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon pickle relish
sweet paprika to taste
3 tablespoons plain yogurt
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
1 small cucumber, pickled, finely chopped
1 tomato, seeded and chopped
water with salt
For the sauce:
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
250g finely chopped onion
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 kg red and green bell peppers, cut into small squares
salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup beef broth, prepared with bouillon cube
3 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1 tablespoon cornstarch
200g smoked bacon, cut into small squares

200g smoked bacon, cut into small squares
Prepare the potato dumpling recipe
Prepare the ground beef mixture by combining the ground beef, egg, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, mustard, sweet paprika, and plain yogurt
Mix well and check the seasoning
Add the onion, cucumber, and tomatoes to the mixture
Mix well and adjust the seasoning if necessary
Shape 8 dumplings with the ground beef mixture
Shape also 8 potato dumpling pieces
Place a meat dumpling in the center of each potato dumpling piece and fold it over to enclose the filling
Dust with flour
Drop into boiling salted water and let cook for 10-15 minutes
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain well
While the dumplings are cooking, prepare the sauce
Melt the butter or margarine
Saute the onion and garlic until softened
Add the bell peppers and season to taste
Add the beef broth and let simmer for 15 minutes
Add the tomatoes and simmer for another 10 minutes
Dissolve the cornstarch in a little water
Add to the sauce and cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly
Fry the small squares of smoked bacon until lightly browned
Drain and add to the sauce
Serve the dumplings with this sauce
Serve 4-6 per serving.
