1 1/2 cups of flour
1 1/4 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
2/3 cup of unsalted butter, softened (160g)
1 cup of milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups of flour

Sift the flour, sugar, chocolate chips, baking powder, and baking soda into a large bowl
Add 2/3 cup of softened butter or margarine
Join 2/3 cup of milk and beat with an electric mixer for 2 minutes until smooth
Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure all ingredients are well mixed
Join the eggs and beat well with a spoon
Join the remaining milk and beat again
Bake in a medium-sized, greased or floured cake pan at 350°F for approximately 25 minutes
If desired, cover with whipped cream
It's also great as a simple cake, baked in a large cake pan and cut into squares.
