4 teaspoons of active dry yeast

1/3 cup of milk
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup of currants

2 cups of all-purpose flour, sifted
4 teaspoons of active dry yeast
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of butter or margarine
1/3 cup of milk
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup of currants
gelatin of your preference
Sift the flour again with the yeast, baking powder, and salt
Add the butter or margarine cut into small pieces and mix well
Add the milk and about 2 tablespoons of beaten egg and mix well
Divide the dough into 2 parts
Add the chopped walnuts or pecans to one part and currants to the other part and knead well, forming two dough balls
Let it rest for 5 minutes and form a ring with each part of the dough and place them on a baking sheet of 40 cm x 23 cm
With a sharp knife, cut the dough into 6 slices each
Brush the remaining beaten egg and bake in a moderate oven (170°C) for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown
When serving, separate the slices, make a horizontal cut on each, fill them with gelatin, close again and serve.
