Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C)

Butter eight ramekins and dust with a little sugar

In a saucepan, combine the plums and water, and cook until the fruit is tender

Add the cornstarch dissolved in a little water and cook for an additional minute or until thickened

Add the whiskey and divide the mixture among the ramekins
