In a saucepan, melt the butter or margarine
Add the all-purpose flour and mix well
Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly
Continue cooking over low heat until the sauce thickens
Season with salt
Add the shredded cheese to the white sauce, reserving 2 tablespoons for garnish
In a baking dish, arrange alternating layers of crescent roll dough, spinach, and cheese sauce, finishing with the sauce
Sprinkle with the reserved 2 tablespoons of cheese and top with sliced tomato
Place in a moderate oven (170°C) for about 30 minutes
