For the almond cakes
500g ground beef
1 egg
1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon salt
1 large clove of garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the tomato sauce
5 chopped tomatoes
1 chopped onion
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon salt
For the almond cakes

Mix all the ingredients for the almond cakes and shape into balls
Place them in a refrigerator, cover, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes until cooked through
Set aside
Prepare the sauce: mix all the ingredients in a heatproof bowl and place under the broiler, stirring halfway through cooking time
Serve the sauce with the almond cakes
Cut into 4 portions
