Beat the butter or margarine with the vanilla
Add the confectioners' sugar gradually, beating well
Add the egg yolks and beat well
Sift together the flour and baking soda
Add to the mixture and mix well
Add the rolled oats
Mix well
Place 1/2 cup of dough onto a baking sheet and center a gumdrop in the middle
Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for about 20 minutes or until lightly golden
Make approximately 165 cookies.
