2-3 ripe bananas, mashed (1 cup)

Preheat the oven and grease a rectangular baking dish measuring approximately 32 x 22 x 5 cm
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, yeast, and baking soda
Add the butter or margarine, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract
Mix until just combined
Beat for an additional 2 minutes
Add the eggs and buttermilk, and beat for another 2 minutes
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish
Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C) for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
Let cool before serving.
