Preheat the oven to medium heat (180°C)
Grease a 27 cm diameter cake pan with butter
In a blender, blend the butter with sugar and egg yolks until smooth
In another bowl, whisk together flour and yeast
In a small bowl, dissolve guaraná syrup in water
Add flour to the butter mixture, alternating with guaraná syrup, and blend until just combined
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form
Gently fold into the cake batter
Pour into prepared pan and bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
Let cool down before serving at room temperature.
