Preheat the oven to 350°F (medium)
Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and set aside
In a stand mixer, cream together all ingredients except for the chocolate until smooth
Divide the mixture in half, add the chocolate to one portion, and mix until well combined
Place the light-colored batter into the prepared pan and top with the chocolate layer
Use a spatula to gently fold the two batters together
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for approximately 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes
Dust with powdered sugar and serve at room temperature
