3 sliced mangos
1/4 cup of unsalted butter or margarine, softened
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/4 cup of melted butter or margarine
1/3 cup of mango jelly, damson, or apricot

Level the batter evenly in a greased 39 x 23.5 cm baking dish
Cover with a cloth and let it rest in a protected place for about 30 minutes
While that's happening, peel the mangos
Cut into four pieces
Remove the pit and cut into thin slices
Mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and cloves in a small bowl
Melt the butter or margarine
Arrange the mango slices on top of the batter, overlapping them
Sprinkle with the sugar mixture and drizzle with melted butter or margarine
Bake in a moderate oven, preheated to 180°C, for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Remove from the oven
Melt the jelly and brush it over the mango slices
Let it cool for about 30 minutes before slicing
Serve as is, or with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
