1 packet of active dry yeast for bread
2 tablespoons warm water
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup hot milk
1 beaten egg
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup preferred gelatin
1/2 cup crystallized fruits, chopped
1/4 cup chopped raisins
1/4 cup chopped nuts

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Reserve
In a bowl, mix together sugar, butter or margarine, salt, and hot milk
Let it cool down
Add beaten egg and reserved yeast
Mix in flour (if needed, add a little more to obtain a firm dough)
Knead on a floured surface for 3 minutes, until smooth and elastic
Let it rise in a protected area for 1 hour and 30 minutes
Unfold the dough into a rectangle of 50 x 20 cm
Mix in gelatin, crystallized fruits, raisins, and nuts
Spread over the dough and roll up like a roulade from the longest side
Close the ends tightly and cut in half lengthwise
Place the open end facing up
Place on a round baking sheet with a diameter of 25 cm, greased and floured
Let it rise again in a protected area for 30 minutes and bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for 40 minutes.
