6 large red onions

1 tablespoon of fresh thyme, chopped
Salt and black pepper to taste

Preheat the oven to medium temperature
Wash and thoroughly dry the onions
Arrange them in a baking dish greased with oil without removing their skins
Bake for about 1 hour or until they're tender
Remove from the oven and remove the skins
Season with salt, black pepper, and fresh thyme
Serve immediately to accompany grilled or roasted meats
