Melt the butter in the microwave on medium power for 1 minute
Stir well to combine
Add the sugar and stir until dissolved
Place in the microwave on medium power for 5 minutes, stirring every 2-3 times
Let it rest for a few minutes
Return to the microwave on high power for 2-3 minutes
Stir again
Add the cooked rice flakes and stir well
Return to the microwave on high power for 1 minute
Pour into an 18x25cm baking dish, lightly greased
Sprinkle with dark chocolate chips
As the chocolate begins to melt, spread it evenly with a knife or spatula
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or more
When serving, cut into bars
Makes approximately 20 bars.
