2 medium onions, chopped (200g)
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 cup olive oil
1 1/2 pounds Portuguese smoked sausage, cut into thin slices (350g),
in thin slices
2 cups water
2 cups dry white wine
2 tablespoons paprika
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
12 kg frozen fava beans

Sauté the onion, garlic, and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes or until the onion is soft
Add the smoked sausage and cook for a bit more
Add the water, wine, paprika, salt, and black pepper, and simmer for 4 minutes or until boiling, stirring occasionally
Add the fava beans and cook for about 30 minutes, or until most of the liquid has evaporated and the beans are tender
Transfer to a serving dish
Serve warm or at room temperature.
