Mix the cheese with the flour
Heat the wine over low heat
When almost at a boil, add the cheese gradually, stirring
The cheese should be melted before adding more cheese
Place the fondue pot on the fondue set
Rub the bottom and sides of the pot with the garlic cloves
Season the cheese mixture with salt, pepper, and Kirsch (or brandy)
Mix well and pour into the fondue pot
Each person spears a cube of French bread crust onto a skewer
Dip into the cheese mixture, giving the fondue a stir
Transfer to a plate and serve with another skewer
