In a small saucepan with a thick bottom, combine the yolks, sugar, and butter
Bring to low heat, stirring slowly with a wooden spoon, always from the center outwards
When the mixture thickens and releases from the bottom of the saucepan, add the vanilla and stir well
Remove from heat and transfer to a greased refrigerator dish
Let the mass cool, cover with plastic wrap and reserve at room temperature until the next day – so it will be easier to shape the drops
Make balls with 1/2 tablespoon of the mass, pulling out a point to model like a drop
Cover with sprinkles and place in molds
Yields 60 units.
