Roll out the flaky pastry into eight 8x8 cm squares
Gently beat the egg with water and brush the pastry
Place half a mace in the center of each square, dust with allspice and cinnamon
Fold together and press firmly
Brush the pastry with the egg
Place on a baking sheet, put in a preheated oven at 180°C and bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown
Serve hot or cold with ice cream and chocolate sauce.
