Beat the egg whites until they become frothy, then gradually add the sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form
Heat the milk in a large saucepan
Pour the meringue mixture into small balls onto the hot milk
Cover the pan and simmer over low heat for 3 minutes
Gently remove the meringue balls and place them on a paper towel to dry and cool
(Make only a few at a time so they don't lose their shape)
Dissolve the contents of one package of gelatin for banana pudding in 1/2 cup of cold water, then slowly pour it over the hot milk, stirring constantly
Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes
Taste and adjust the sugar to your liking
Let it cool for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
Place the creme in a large flat dish
Arrange the meringue balls on top
Serve warm or chilled
