Place 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour in a bowl and add the buttermilk, salt, baking soda, and melted butter or margarine
Mix until smooth
Add enough flour to obtain a firm dough
Knead on a floured surface for a few minutes
Preheat the oven to 170°C (moderate)
Roll out the dough thinly
Cut into small rectangles
Place in a greased baking dish and pierce with a fork
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden
Remove from the baking dish and let cool
Dole out 6 Swedish-style pastries, each approximately 30 cm in diameter.
