500 to 750 grams of peaches

Blanch the peaches (it's good to give them a quick boil first)
Remove the pits and cut into pieces
Mix with sugar and place in the punch bowl with 1/2 bottle of wine
Let it rest covered for 1 hour
Add the remaining wine and combine with chilled champagne at serving time
