Mix the flour, salt, and baking powder
Add the butter or margarine to the pieces and mix well
Gradually add the warm water kneading until you get a firm and pliable dough
Divide the dough into 12 equal-sized balls, cover, and let it rest for about 30 minutes
Heat a frying pan
Open each ball of dough onto a lightly floured surface to form a thin circle
Place a tortilla in the frying pan without oil
Fry until brown spots appear (about 2 minutes)
Flip and fry until the other side appears (about another 2 minutes)
If the tortilla puffs up, press it with a cloth
Wrap the tortillas in a kitchen towel to keep them soft and warm
Make 12 tortillas
Serve with beef filling or linguiça or use for making a composed sandwich (see next recipes)
