2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
1 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of all-purpose flour
8 tablespoons of melted chocolate
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
1 2/3 cups of hot water
whipped cream (optional)
2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
1 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of all-purpose flour
8 tablespoons of melted chocolate
1 tablespoon of baking powder

Mix the butter or margarine, half cup of sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl
Mix the flour, three tablespoons of chocolate, and baking powder
Alternate adding this mixture and milk to the ingredients in the bowl, mixing well
Add the nuts if using
Grease a 39x26 cm refractory mold
Mix the remaining half cup of sugar, the remaining chocolate, and hot water
Pour into the mold
Lay spoonfuls of the previous mixture on top
Bake in a moderate preheated oven (170°C) for about 45 minutes
If desired, dust with confectioner's sugar
Serve warm
The cake will form on top and a thick chocolate sauce underneath
If desired, serve with whipped cream
