In a pot, sauté the garlic with the bacon over low heat until golden
Add the lentils, increase heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
Add 2 liters of water, cover the pot and cook at high heat until boiling
Lower heat and cook until the lentils are tender
Remove from heat, let cool slightly and blend in a blender
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve
Add 1 cup of water and lemon juice
Mix well and season
In a frying pan, sauté the onion in olive oil over low heat until golden brown without burning
Remove from pan and place on absorbent paper
Heat the soup in a pot and add the onion, mix well and serve
