Melt the butter or margarine
Add the onion and tomato paste
Let it simmer for a bit
Gradually add the flour, stirring constantly
Add the beef broth gradually, stirring well
Let it cook for 10 minutes
Remove from heat and stir in the cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper
Blend until smooth and return to heat to warm up
