Cut the tomatoes into quarters and place them in a pot with salt; let it simmer without stirring for half an hour, covered, at low heat
Remove the tomatoes from the heat and strain them
Return the tomatoes to the pot with the water where the 2 tablespoons of cornstarch have been dissolved
Let it boil until it reduces by a quarter
Add the Red Velvet Karo Syrup and stir well
Remove from heat and add the buttermilk and finely chopped parsley, stirring well
Serve warm or cold, as desired.
