Milk Bread Crumbs
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup confectioner's sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
1/4 cup ground almonds
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or scrape seeds from a vanilla bean)
1/2 cup chilled water
Fig Filling
1 egg
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or scrape seeds from a vanilla bean)
4 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
16 fresh, ripe figs, washed and with skin intact
2 tablespoons finely ground almonds
To dust

To dust
2 tablespoons confectioner's sugar
1 In a bowl, whisk together the flour, confectioner's sugar, and salt
Add the cold butter and mix until it forms crumbs
Add the ground almonds, vanilla extract, and water, and mix until smooth
Wrap the dough in plastic film and refrigerate for 30 minutes
2 Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)
Roll out the dough and line a tart pan with it
Cover the dough with a piece of parchment paper and fill the cavity with dry beans
Bake for 10 minutes to pre-bake the crust
Remove the parchment paper and beans, and reserve
Filling
1 In a bowl, whisk together the egg, heavy cream, vanilla extract, honey, and flour
Cut off the stems of the figs and cut each one in half. Reserve
Spread the ground almonds over the pre-baked crust
Arrange the fig halves on top, then drizzle with cream and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and crispy
Assembly
Let the tart cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan
Dust with confectioner's sugar
Serve warm or chilled, accompanied by ice cream.
