Preheat the oven to strong heat (200°F)
Place the popcorn in a large bowl and warm it up in the oven
Grease a 25 cm diameter pan with butter or margarine
In a separate pot, mix the sugar with Karo, butter or margarine
Bring to medium heat and stir until the mixture forms a smooth ball, then remove from heat
Add the strawberry gelatin and stir well
Continue cooking for 1 minute without stirring
Remove from heat
Add the baking soda and stir very well to create a foamy mixture
Remove the popcorn from the oven and place it in the pot with the gelatin mixture, mixing while the sauce is still foamy
Mix carefully until all the popcorn is coated with the mixture
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and press down firmly on the bottom and sides of the pan using lightly greased fingers
Bake for 15 minutes
Let it cool and fill with ice cream, smoothing with a spatula
When serving, garnish with fresh strawberry halves
If not serving immediately, store in the freezer, but add strawberries only at the time of serving.
