1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

6 sliced apples

Sift together the flour, salt, and yeast
Melt the butter or margarine into small pieces and mix until it forms a granulated consistency
Mix the milk with the beaten egg and add to the flour mixture, stirring well
The dough should be quite firm
Press the dough evenly into the bottom of a baking dish approximately 39 x 26 x 30 cm
Peel the apples, cut them in half, remove the seeds, and cut into slices
Place the apple slices on top of the dough in the baking dish, overlapping them slightly
Bake in a hot oven for 25 minutes
While the cake is baking, prepare the topping by beating the melted butter with the chopped walnuts and spices
Remove the cake from the oven and spread the topping over the apples
Reduce the oven heat slightly and bake for an additional 20 minutes
Serve warm
Assemble the first part in the morning
Have the topping ready and assemble the second part at night.
