Milk-based pastry dough purchased ready.
Filling
1/2 kg of ground pork
1 cup of sweet potato
1 egg
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of dry sherry wine
250 g of raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, and finely chopped
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of water
Sauce
2 1/4 cups of water
1 cup of sugar
2/3 cup of vinegar
salt to taste
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
Peanut oil or sesame oil
1 green pepper, seeded and finely chopped, or use red bell pepper if desired
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 onion, cut into 8 pieces
3 tablespoons of cornstarch

Open the milk-based pastry dough and cut it into squares of 8-9 cm
If you're not using it immediately, cover it with a damp cloth
For the filling: place the ground pork in a bowl
Remove any tough parts from the sweet potato
Place it in boiling water and let it sit for 1/2 minute
Drain immediately and rinse with cold water
When it's cool, open it up to remove excess water
Mince the sweet potato and add it to the ground pork
Add the remaining ingredients
Filling each square with 1 tablespoon of filling
Dampen the edges with a moist finger
Close the other two sides by pressing well
Do the same for all the dough and filling
For the sauce: cover the cooked won-ton with a damp cloth
Combine 2 cups of water, sugar, vinegar, salt, and soy sauce in a pan
Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar has dissolved
Fry 2 or 3 won-ton at a time for about 5 minutes, until golden brown
Drain and set aside
Heat 1/4 cup of peanut oil in a skillet
Sauté the onion, garlic, and green pepper for about 4-5 minutes
Mix the cornstarch with the remaining 1/2 cup of water
Add it to the saucepan and stir well
Pour over the won-ton or serve separately.
