Rinse the asparagus under cold water and cut it in half
Remove the seeds and then cut it into pieces

In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat
Add the onion and sauté for two minutes
Add the asparagus and stir
Sauté for five minutes
Add the vegetable broth, season with salt, and cover the pan

Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the asparagus is tender
Remove from heat and add red pepper flakes
Stir well and check the seasoning
Sprinkle with scallions and serve with grilled chicken breast.
