4 slices of bacon
1 tablespoon of butter
1 minced garlic clove
1 cup of milk
Salt to taste
Soak the green beans in cold water for 3 hours
Drain and put them in a pot with enough water to cover the beans, leaving about 2 inches at the top
Simmer over medium heat until the green beans are tender and mushy
While that's cooking, place the bacon on a paper towel-lined plate and microwave on high for 3 minutes or until crispy
Let it cool and crumble
Set aside
Melt the butter and sauté the garlic until lightly browned
Add the cooked green beans and stir well
Add the milk and season with salt
Simmer over medium heat until the puree reaches the desired consistency, adding more milk if needed
Adjust the seasoning carefully to avoid overpowering the dish and sprinkle with crumbled bacon
Serve immediately
