Mix the ham, cabbage, onion, green pepper, egg, and mustard
Open the buns, remove a little of the bun's core and add the previous mixture
Moisten the mixture with mayonnaise
Fill the buns or serve with whole wheat bread
Garnish with pickles, if desired
