1 cup seedless grapes, halved
1/2 cup crystallized cherries, cut in half
1 cup mixed crystallized fruits

Dissolve the yeast in warm water; let it rest for a few minutes
Add milk and 2 cups of flour with 1 tablespoon of sugar; beat until smooth
Let it rest in a protected place until it has doubled in volume and formed bubbles
Beat the butter and add 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour, spices, and salt
Beat well
Add eggs and beat again
Mix the yeast mixture with the butter mixture
Add 2 cups of flour and beat well
Finally, add nuts and fruits and enough flour to obtain a relatively firm dough
Place the dough on a floured surface and knead well
Place in an oiled bowl and let it rise until it has doubled in volume
Knead for a few more minutes
Place in a large, well-greased mold with a hole in the middle (with a capacity of 3 1/2 liters)
Let it rest again in a protected place until it has doubled in volume
Bake in a moderate oven for about 35 minutes
Let it rest for a few minutes
Remove from mold and let it cool
If desired, cover with confectioner's sugar mixed with a little milk
Decorate with crystallized fruits.
