2 1/2 cups of long-grain rice
4 cups of water
2 1/2 cups of long-grain rice
4 cups of water
Place the rice in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold running water until the water is clear
Drain
Combine the rice and water in a saucepan
(If you prefer very tender rice, add an additional 1/2 cup of water)
Cook the rice, uncovered, over high heat for 10 minutes or until holes form on the surface of the rice
Cover tightly and continue cooking over low heat for an additional 20 minutes
Serve 4 to 6 portions.
