150 g of Portuguese cod, cut into fillets
4 onions, finely sliced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 eggs
1 pound of cod (900 g), descaled and cut into chunks
100g of cornbread, crumbled
Salt and black pepper to taste

Soak the cod in water for 36 hours, changing the water at least four times during this period
Rinse and cut the cod into regular pieces
In a skillet, heat the olive oil, add the onions, garlic, and cod
Cook over low heat for 10 minutes
Cover the skillet and cook, turning the fish occasionally, for another 10 minutes
Add the cod's liver and mix well
Remove from heat
Preheat the oven to medium temperature
Place the skillet ingredients in a baking dish
Sprinkle with crumbled cornbread
Beat the eggs, season with salt and pepper, and pour over the fish
Bake until lightly browned and serve.
