For the sweet treat
1 kg of phyllo dough (fine pastry, which can be found pre-made at specialized stores)
Half kg of nuts
A pinch of cinnamon
A pinch of sugar
Butter
For the syrup
Half kg of sugar
2 cups of water
A quarter cup of coffee liqueur extract from lemon
Prepare the sweet treat
Grind the nuts in a machine
Place it on a baking sheet, adding a little cinnamon and sugar
Mix everything together and reserve
Place 8 sheets of phyllo dough in a rectangular shape, leaving some excess at the four sides of the mold (this excess will be used later to cover the sweet treat)
Butter the dough
Add another sheet
Butter it and sprinkle with ground nuts, cinnamon, and sugar
Place two more sheets of dough, butter it, and sprinkle with ground nuts
Place two more sheets and follow the same procedure until the sweet treat reaches about 5 centimeters in thickness
Finish by closing the sweet treat with the excess dough that was left at the sides of the mold
Finally, place three more sheets of dough, butter it
Bake in the oven for about 4 hours
When ready, make small horizontal cuts on the sweet treat and drizzle the syrup over it
Prepare the syrup
Place the sugar and water in a pan and bring to a simmer
Add lemon juice, so the syrup doesn't thicken too much
Stir constantly until it reaches the desired consistency.
