1 package of vanilla cake mix
2 cups of instant oatmeal
3/4 cup of unsalted butter or margarine, softened
1 cup of strawberry gelatin (or your preferred flavor)
1 tablespoon of water

Preheat the oven to moderate temperature (170°C)
Mix together in a large bowl the cake mix and oatmeal
Add the melted butter or margarine and mix well until the mixture resembles cookie crumbs
Remove half of this mixture (about 3 cups) and spread it at the bottom of an ungreased 9x13-inch baking dish, pressing firmly
Mix the gelatin with water and spread over the mixture in the baking dish
Cover with the remaining mixture and press down again to smooth out the surface
Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown
Let cool completely and cut into bars
You should end up with about 48 bars.
