5 limes - 600 g

1 cup water - 240 ml

Wash the limes well and zest the skin
Extract the juice
Combine the zested lime peel and sugar in a saucepan
Add the water and simmer slowly, stirring until the sugar has dissolved
Let it come to a boil
Cook for 2 minutes
Let it cool and combine with lime juice
Strain and refrigerate
Serve at a picnic in a well-sealed bottle and dilute with water or sparkling water
Serves 8 to 10 cups (approximately 2 liters)
