1/3 cup of grated cheddar cheese

Place the sweet potatoes in boiling water; add the carrots on top
Sprinkle with salt
Cover and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes
Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20 to 25 minutes
If necessary, add a little more boiling water
When the sweet potatoes and carrots are tender, drain and combine with milk; sprinkle with grated cheese
Replace the lid again; turn off the heat and let the cheese melt.
