1/3 cup of sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons of cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of milk
3 egg yolks
2 tablespoons of strong coffee
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
For the meringue
1 large egg white
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup of Karo syrup
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 small tablets of bittersweet chocolate
1/3 cup of sugar

2 cups of milk

2 tablespoons of strong coffee

For the meringue
1 large egg white
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup of Karo syrup
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 small tablets of bittersweet chocolate
Mix the cornstarch, sugar, and salt in a saucepan
Gradually add 1 cup of milk and the beaten egg yolks
Add the remaining milk and coffee
Cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened
Add the vanilla extract and pour into a glass dish
Let cool and cover with meringue.
