2 cups sliced almonds

Sift the flour and yeast together
In a large bowl, cream the butter or margarine until light and fluffy
Add the sliced almonds and mix until well combined
Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition
Then, add the grated orange peel and mix until smooth
Gradually add the sifted ingredients and mix until just combined
Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness
Cut into desired shapes using a biscuit cutter
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each one
Sprinkle with additional sliced almonds
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown
Remove from the oven and let cool completely
Makes about 96 biscuits.
