1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 2 cups butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 large egg yolks
1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
1/2 cup buttermilk

Sift together the flour and cocoa powder
Beat the butter or margarine with the sugar until creamy
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the yeast mixture
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the coffee-butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients
Beat just until combined
Pour the batter into greased mini muffin tin cups
Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
Yield: 18 medium-sized fritters
Dust with powdered sugar.
