Sift the flour with the yeast
Beat the butter or margarine with the sugar and vanilla extract
Add the beaten egg yolks and beat well
Alternate adding the sifted ingredients and milk, beating well
Beat the egg whites until stiff
Fold in the previous mixture, mixing lightly
Place in 3 9-inch round cake pans, greased, and bake in a moderate oven, preheated, for 30 minutes.
