Preheat the oven
Butter and flour a 23x35cm baking dish
Mix the plums and pecans
Combine the flour with yeast, salt, and baking soda
Beat the butter or margarine with sugar and spices
Add the eggs and beat well
Alternate adding the plum liquid and milk to the butter mixture, beating until smooth
Add the plums and pecans
Pour into the prepared baking dish
Bake in a moderate oven until a toothpick comes out clean
Cover with white glaze and sprinkle with semi-sweet chocolate shavings.
