Mixture
1 1/2 cups of plums, pitted
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
3 eggs
Cornmeal Mixture
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons of butter, melted
1/4 cup of chopped walnuts
Mixture

Cornmeal Mixture
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons of butter, melted

Mix the cornmeal mixture and set aside
Bake the plums: cover them with water and simmer until they're soft
Drain and reserve the plum juice
Pit the plums and set aside
In a bowl, sift together the dry ingredients and add 2/3 cup of the reserved plum juice and oil
Beat in the eggs
Beat for another minute
Mix in the plums with a wooden spoon
Pour into individual greased and floured molds
Dust with the cornmeal mixture and bake in a medium oven until a toothpick inserted comes out dry
Serve with whipped cream
