Beat the egg lightly in a bowl
Soak the breadcrumbs in 3 tablespoons of beer and add the onion, oregano, hot sauce, and salt, mixing well with the egg and beef
Shape into a beef pudding shape
Melt the butter or margarine and brown the beef pudding on all sides
Add the remaining beer and simmer slowly in a covered pot for about 25 minutes
