Dough
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons of butter, softened
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup of grated carrots
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 cup of chopped walnuts (optional)
Glaze
1 and 1/4 cups of water
1/2 carrot, peeled and grated
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of orange juice
Dough
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons of butter, softened

Glaze
1 and 1/4 cups of water
1/2 carrot, peeled and grated
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of orange juice
Dough: Beat the butter and all-purpose flour until well combined
Add the eggs one at a time, beating continuously
Remove from the mixer and add the remaining ingredients
Mix until a smooth batter forms
Pour into a greased and floured cake pan and bake in a medium oven
Make the glaze: Blend 1 cup of water with the grated carrot in a blender, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve. Reserve
Mix the all-purpose flour with the remaining water and cook over low heat until a caramel forms
Add the cream cheese, mix well, and add the orange juice and carrot juice
Mix until smooth and let simmer
Serve the cake warm with ice cream and drizzle with the glaze.
