Beat the butter or margarine until creamy
Gradually add the sugar, beating until light and fluffy
Beat in the egg
Melt the chocolate and mix into the batter
Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt
Add to the batter, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with the flour
Beat just until combined
Fold in the cherry preserves, cherry juice, and nuts
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and pour in the batter
Bake at 275°F for 90 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
