Beat the butter with an electric mixer until creamy
Add the egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition
Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder
Alternate adding the milk and whipping cream, beating until smooth
Beat in the whipped egg whites until stiff peaks form
Pour the batter into an ungreased 9-inch round cake pan
Bake at 375°F for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
Remove from oven and let cool.
